I really enjoy this picture of the garden. It reminds me of growth. I am so glad God doesn't give up on me - He doesn't give up on you either. I was reading today in Acts about how the high priest and some of the sadducees were jealous of the apostles. They had the apostles arrested and put in a public jail. Listen to what happens:
"But during the night and angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out. 'Go, stand in the temple courts,' he said, 'and tell the people the full message of this new life.'" (Acts 5:19-20 NIV).
Sometimes we get stuck in old ways of thinking and acting and God has to remind us that He is never stuck. His way is always fresh and new. Not that He is changing, but that He is changing me - to be more like His Son! The word "new" occurs in 173 different verses in the Bible. You know God could have just created one of something - but in everything He created, He made it able to reproduce - creating new life over and over again. He wants to do the same in us. In Romans 7:6 it says:
"But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code."
I'm so glad God isn't stuck and that He allows us to grow.
Have a great week,
Jana

Jana, it's great to see your success. I'm so happy for you!! I sure could use your talent in my house! We are going to renovate 2 bathrooms this fall - they are the original from 1974, so you can imagine. I'm also changing the decor for Parker, who turns 12 this week. There's sure not much out there for boys. Any ideas?
